The 50 Mile Challenge - Sun 10th Aug 2008
Yes...I finished it in bang on 12 hours...It was bloody tough & I wondered why it was officially called a 'challenge' and not a race or an Ultra (which it was) - well, 52.4 miles actually...Well, it was called a challenge because it was bloody tough!!! It was tough and hot and there were puddles and stinging nettles and slippery riverside concrete and broken pathways and 2 foot grass condensed like sand and high winds throughout the day but I bloody well did it...can't walk though at the mo...lol...need a few days R&R.
This is one tough run...but I shall be back for more... :)

The Ultra-Taper
This is the difficult bit...not running or running short distances as opposed to running my regular Weds 12 miler. So i cross train with some core strength/weight training and yoga stretches and maybe a 2 miler with some fast burst in between them. Today I shall get on the rower and fantasize about being in the GB Olympic rowing team! LOL (What is this LOL shite??) Reading Anton's blog for some inspiration for Sunday's 50 miler.

Running In The Rain
Running in the rain...I love this experience...it's life at it's most refreshing...It's July here in the UK and pissing down with rain and that's a typical British Summer!! LOL - BUT I love running in the rain...makes me feel fresh...plus I save money on my own water bills and can have a shower whilst running in a Kent field. ;) So if you wake up and see it raining, don't think, "Oh no...I'm gona get wet..." So What!!! Get out there in that rain, get refreshed and stop being a big girl's blouse...I love running in the rain.

British Dogs & the braindead owners!!!!!!!! GGGrrrr
Just at the end of an easy 90 mins Cross Country through the beautiful Countyside and lanes of Kent, England and at the end through my village two huge great Wolf like - these things would be at home on the plains of the USA - come dashing at me and barking...Luckily I've stared at a Lion in South Africa...so it gives me balls the size of Tony Soprano & they stopped in their tarcks BUT what gets me are the owners...I'd love to bite their arses!!! Toss pots!!! Where the hell was the owner?? Probabley having his brain drained from all the tosh and selfish shite they've been mentally and physically ingesting!!! Rant over.

Running & Dogs
I am fed up of Dog owners who have no control over thier animal...I am referring to Dogs coming at you during a run - even though you slow and stop - and they bark insanley with thier teeth gagging to bite ya...Here's a message for all of you Tosspots...learn some voice commands you wankers! It's not Gizmo or a Care Bear...It's a strong mammal with big fuck off teeth...show some respect for you fellow human being by controlling your K9!!! Idiots!
